Marcus Bailey
16 year old Marcus, named fondly after the late Marcus Garvey, is a deep thinking loner and introspective Grandma's Boy. It breaks his heart to see his Grandma Ethel still missing and thinking about her brother, Garfield, who lived at the Widrun School for Troubled Boys back in the 60's, when it suddenly disappeared.
Now, when it's time to choose a summer camp, Marcus chooses Camp Omimi, so he can find out exactly what happened to his Great Uncle, and in the process, he unearths the island's biggest mysteries in the process.
Obioma Adamu
Obioma may be a soulful musician, but she's also a a coward with a special interesting in ghost busting. She knows all the tricks to find, banish and escape spirits, making her budding friendship with Marcus even more interesting. Unable to tell if it's Marcus, or just the island that attracts strange and sometimes dangerous phenomena, but she finds her perception of the world consistently challenged. Running for her life has basically become an olympic sport, but it all makes for such exciting ghost busting footage.
Chad Koates
Chad is a self-involved show-off bent on bench pressing anything he can get his hands on, but a lot of bravado comes from desperately trying to avoid being compared to his older brother, Jeff, the Camp Omimi vet.
Camp Omimi wasn't his first choice, but Chad plans to seize the opportunity to carve out a name for himself, starting with Marie. She doesn't even seem to notice he exists - yet - but as a bonafide stud in his own mind, Chad's confident his bulging biceps and impressive gains will eventually catch her eye. It has to, because if that doesn't work, Chad might actually have to...develop a personality. The horror.
Jaime Peche
Contrary to his appearance, Jaime (pronounced hi-may) is actually soft spoken and shy. As a kid, his intimidating appearance caused him non-stop grief, making it hard to make the right kind of friends. He became quieter, and more awkward. When his crush and his best friend start dating, Jaime is finally ready to try something new and step out of his comfort zone.
Despite his strange tendencies, Jaime is grateful when Marcus and even chatty Obioma, start hanging out with him. Their friendship takes him on bizarre journeys on this small island, forcing him to make bold decisions. It's a wild ride, but he wouldn't trade these new experiences, or his new friends, for the world. Maybe now he'll have the courage to tell Marie how he feels.
